Why I’m throwing my name in the hat for Taylor Swift European Eras Tour Tickets

Regular readers of this blog may recall that a few months ago, I went to the Taylor Swift concert with my daughter in Dallas. We used points for a hotel stay (see The Best 8000 Points I’ve Ever Spent). It was an awesome concert, and my daughter still mentions it nearly every day.

Well, I figured that maybe we’d see Taylor Swift again in a few years on her next tour. But then, I saw that Taylor Swift announced international dates for her tour in 2024. And admittedly, my mind started racing and scheming.

Have miles, will travel to concerts?

Also a few months ago, my husband argued that we shouldn’t start traveling to see concerts (see this post). But wait, I’m not trying to use miles and points to fly to Europe just for this concert. My daughter and I will already be in Europe for a previously planned trip. It just so happens that we will be kinda sorta close to London on the date of one of Taylor’s concerts.

So, why not throw my name into the hat and see what happens? And by “throw my name into the hat”, I mean sign up via email for the chance to buy tickets.

I’ll find out tomorrow if I make the list to try to get tickets. But even if I make this first cut, there’s no guarantee I will be able to get tickets on the day of the release. Remember the Ticketmaster debacle in the USA for the Eras Tour?

Yes, it’s a bit crazy to travel to Europe to see a concert. But if we’re already nearby….not as crazy?

I’m definitely not telling my daughter anything right now. There’s a strong possibility that the tickets won’t work out. I don’t want to pay high prices for resale tickets. But, if I can get tickets during the regular sale, I’m gonna go for it.
