As I mentioned in a previous post, today is the last day to book Hyatt awards before changes go into effect tomorrow, May 20, 2026. Currently, each Hyatt award category has Off-Peak, Standard and Peak levels. The changes that start on May 20 will include 5 levels:
- Lowest
- Low
- Moderate
- Upper
- Top
In addition, there are 112 hotels shifting to a higher category. Any awards you book today before these changes will be honored at the lower prices.
I did book one hotel today in Asia for my son’s trip this winter. It’s a Category 2 hotel currently in the “Peak” price of 9500 points. Starting tomorrow, it could cost as much as 15,000 points. So, I’m locking it in at the lower price.
