You’ve seen those travel memes that say “My toxic trait is that I hate leaving my house but I love leaving the country”, right?
Well, that’s me. But these past few years, I’ve been making more of an effort to be a tourist in my own city. And since the DFW area has a decent amount of concerts and special events, it’s been fun to try new things.
Last weekend, my family tried another new experience: playing real live Squid Games at Netflix House Dallas.
Netflix House Dallas
This Netflix-themed attraction opened in December 2025 in Dallas, and the Philadelphia location opened a few weeks earlier. The Dallas location is in the Galleria Mall near the Tollway and 635. You can’t miss it from the outside:
A few of the more popular Netflix show characters have statues outside the entrance:
It’s free to enter Netflix Dallas if you just want to take some photos or peruse some Netflix-themed merchandise.
The attraction also has a small arcade and Netflix Bites, a restaurant with show-themed food. My family ate there for lunch, and it was surprisingly good!
But the main attractions at Netflix Dallas are two interactive role-play games:
- Stranger Things: Face the Dark
- Squid Games: Survive the Trials
Each experience costs extra and lasts around one hour. Note: Netflix House Philly has two different experiences, One Piece: Quest for the Devil Fruit and Wednesday: Eve of the Outcasts.
Playing Squid Games: Survive the Trials
My family chose to play Squid Games. The cost was $39 per person (but price fluctuates depending on day/time). We rotated through 5 games with a group of about 20 people. The guards met us in the bunk room:
Each player received an electronic bracelet with our contestant number, and we took our photos, just like in the show.
I don’t want to spoil the games too much for future players, but they were taken straight from the Squid Games series. Thankfully, nobody died in these games.

The last game was dinner with the Front Man where a winner was crowned:
Even if you got eliminated during any of the games, you could still play the next game. The rankings changed after each game.
The experience ended in the VIP lounge, where we took more photos:
My family really enjoyed the game! The theming, the challenges, the costumes and the actors were all on point. The hour flew by. Although watching the Squid Games tv series isn’t necessary to play the game, I do think it’s more enjoyable to have some knowledge of the show to compare similarities and differences. In the future, we plan to go back to try the Stranger Things experience.
Note: The experience requires adult supervision for children under age 14. I don’t recommend it for young children.
If you live in the DFW or Philly area or planning to visit, I recommend checking out Netflix House for a fun half-day experience.
