I hope all of you are enjoying your weekend. We took our kids on a train ride yesterday, and they had a blast! We also stopped by Chick-Fil-A on the way home and they were going bananas in the little play area. Wait, nobody cares about any of this stuff! Yawn.
I’m writing this to remind you that Chase Marriott increased 80K points offer is set to expire tomorrow. It pays me referral. This is absolutely not the hottest deal of all, but at least a few of my readers have expressed interest in this bonus. So, here is what you need to keep in mind:
- The bonus will almost certainly come back at some point, though, perhaps, in a different form. This card used to offer 70K points, plus 1 free night, and the annual fee was waived. This bonus comes with $85 fee and no free night, but you get 80K points. Confused? Welcome to this hobby.
- It may be worth applying if you have a specific Marriott stay in mind. I would NOT apply for this bonus speculatively. You may also consider it if you are looking to top off your existing Marriott stash in order to make a “Flight and hotel” redemption Those can be a tremendous deal in certain circumstances. You can even transfer points to Southwest in order to get a Companion pass. Comment or email me if you need further explanation.
- If you are looking for a hot deal and are not interested in Marriott at this time, consider applying for an increased offer on Citi Thank Premier Visa. A working non-affiliate link for 60K points has been found (again). How long will it be alive? I have no clue. Also, Amex Platinum 100K offer may still be available over the phone, but hurry. Read all the details on both offers here
Now, about that intriguing shopping portal I’ve mentioned in the title of the post. It’s called Giving Assistant, and I learned about it from OrensMoneySaver blog. They donate a meal to a needy family from every purchase you make through their shopping portal.
Amazingly, you get 5% cash back on ALL Amazon purchases, not just rotating departments. That’s pretty “redic” (means good). Of course, it’s stackable with cash back you get from bonus categories, like Discover It, which currently pays 5% on Amazon purchases. According to terms, you don’t get cash back on gift cards or on third party retailers.
I honestly don’t know much about this site, but it’s certainly worth a shot, especially if you are a regular Amazon shopper. You can join it via this referral link I will get $5 commission on your first purchase of $5 or more. Thanks in advance. Unfortunately, you don’t get an incentive other than the cash back. Sorry, I don’t make the rules, folks!
