It looks like there is a targeted offer available for Amex Premier Rewards Gold card. It may not show up for all, though. I did get it to come up for some of my relatives, but not for myself or my husband.
You would have to click on “offers matched for you” in the top left corner of credit cards.com. Then fill out your info. This offer information was seen on 12/11/13. Here are the details on the bonus:

- Also, note what it says in the terms and conditions, so please make sure you do qualify:
- If you are identified as a current American Express® Card Member, you may not be eligible for this welcome bonus offer. This offer is also not available to applicants who have had this product within the last 12 months or any other Consumer ZYNC®, Green or Gold Card or Platinum Card® account within the last 90 days.
- I honestly don’t know if they mean any Amex cards, though in the past that wasn’t the case. I like to transfer Membership Rewards to British Airways Avios when there is a transfer bonus available. You could also redeem for 500 dollar Home Depot gift card. The fact that there is no annual fee the first year and low 1000 dollar minimum spending requirement, makes this a very attractive offer for families.
- If you can’t get it to come up in the manner I mentioned, here is a comment from “View from the Wing” blog, that describes applying directly on Amex website. I do not get commission on that offer:
- Go to americanexpress.com , click “Cards”, click “Learn About Charge and Credit Cards”, 6th button in horizontal sub-menu should say “Your Special Card Offers”.

@Ricardo Maybe ask your wife if you can apply on her behalf? Just handle it from there, and add yourself as an authorized user. Most of the stuff can be set up online anyway.
