Barclays just increased the bonus on its AAdvantage Aviator World Elite Business Mastercard (non-affiliate link). Let’s take a look.
AAdvantage Aviator World Elite Mastercard
Earn 80,000 bonus miles and a $95 statement credit after spending $2000 in the first 90 days. This statement credit offsets the card’s $95 annual fee.
- 2X miles on AA purchases
- 2X miles at office supply, telecom and rental car purchases
- 1X miles on all other purchases
- Earn 5% bonus miles yearly based on miles earned with your card
- Free checked bag for you and up to 4 traveling companions
- Preferred boarding on AA flights (Group 5)
- No foreign transaction fees
- $95 annual fee
I actually have had this exact card for a few years. The bonus was only 60k when I got it. I keep the card because my family flies on American often enough that we save money on the free checked bags despite the annual fee.
Unfortunately, based on the fine print, I’m not eligible for another card/bonus:
This one-time offer is valid for new accounts only. Existing accounts and previous cardmembers with accounts closed in the past 24 months may not be eligible for this offer.
Barclays is sensitive to a lot of recent new credit cards and has an informal 6/24 rule (i.e. you likely won’t be approved for the card if you’ve opened 6 or more new cards in the past 24 months).
If you do have a small business and you haven’t gotten this card yet, I do recommend it, especially if you live near an AA hub. My family benefits greatly from AA Web Special Awards.
