Finally Earned Hyatt Brand Explorer Award!

On my family’s recent spring break trip to Miami and Costa Rica, I stayed at two new-to-me Hyatt brands/hotels: The Confidante (Hyatt Unbound Collection) and Andaz Costa Rica Resort at Peninsula Papagayo. Staying at these two brands earned me a free night!

How the Hyatt Brand Explorer Award Works

For World of Hyatt Members, you must stay at five different Hyatt brands in order to earn the Hyatt Brand Explorer Award. Hyatt has 17 brands listed, so it’s possible to earn three free nights if you stay at all of the brands.

The free night automatically shows up in your account after your stay at the 5th brand. The free night is valid at Category 1-4 hotels. The award expires one year from the issue date.

I didn’t alter any plans to stay at five different Hyatt brands. I checked off these boxes unintentionally by staying where we wanted to stay on family vacations.

Plans for my Free Night

Since my husband and I are both World of Hyatt credit card members, we each get a free night at our card anniversary. So technically I have three free nights at my disposal later this year.

I wish I could say that I have fabulous plans for these awards. But with everything going on right now with the global pandemic, all of my travel plans are on hold. My original plan was to use the free night next March in Fort Lauderdale before a cruise, but to be honest I’m not really sure if we will keep that cruise.

So, there’s a good chance I will use the free night to visit family in Denver sometime later this year.
