This is a news recap from last week, tailored to an average Joe/Jane. For faster updates, follow me on Twitter or check my feed on the right side of the blog.
1) Hyatt has announced some category changes, effective August 1st. Nothing major that I can see, this is a fairly mild devaluation. Hyatt is probably the most stable hotel program at the moment. Some nice properties like Hyatt Centric South Beach Miami will now be a Category 4. That means you’ll be able to use your renewal certificate that comes with Chase Hyatt Signature Visa in order to stay in this hotel (read about the card here).
2) Southwest schedule is now open through March 8th. Early spring breakers, get those tickets booked! (h/t to DoC)
3) Sometimes the IT skills of some folks in this hobby simply amaze me. Apparently, some dude has come up with a way to reconstruct a working application link for AT&T Access More MasterCard. Read this post on Dannythedealguru on why you may want to give this offer a shot, while you still can.
4) In case you’ve missed out on increased offer on Chase IHG credit card, read this post on ways you can still get matched to 80,000 points. This is probably my favorite card for its sign-up bonus as well as annual perks.
5) Check your Amex offers. There are some good ones out right now, like free Sam’s Club membership etc.
6) All July hotel promos listed in one super long post.
