August 2026 Transfer Bonuses

Am I the only nerd who eagerly awaits the beginning of a new month to find out the new transfer bonuses? Let’s hope some of us can use these to stretch our miles and points for award flights and award hotel stays.

New: Chase 20% Transfer Bonus to Air Canada Aeroplan (+10% for Credit card holders)

This new transfer bonus popped up mid-month. From August 12 through September 30, 2026, get 20% transfer bonus from Chase Ultimate Rewards to Air Canada Aeroplan. If you’re a Chase Aeroplan credit card holder, you can stack this with an additional 10% transfer bonus if you transfer 50k points or more.

Amex 30% Transfer Bonus to British Airways, Aer Lingus and Iberia Avios

Through September 27, 2026, get 30% transfer bonus from American Express to British Airways, Aer Lingus and Iberia Avios. Once you transfer Avios to these airlines, you can transfer them to other airlines in the Avios program, including Qatar, Finnair and Vueling. I’ve used Avios many times to book domestic and partner award flights, most recently to book my flight home from Hong Kong to SEA on Cathay Pacific Premium Economy.

Capital One 15% Transfer Bonus to Avianca LifeMiles

Through August 31, 2026, get 15% transfer bonus from Capital One to Avianca LifeMiles. I’ve used LifeMiles to book award flights on Star Alliance partners like United and Air New Zealand.

Chase 70% Transfer Bonus to IHG

Through August 31, 2026, get 70% transfer bonus from Chase to IHG InterContinental Hotels Group. This seems like a great deal, but even with the transfer bonus, you can get more value from your Chase points by transferring to Hyatt or airlines.

Citi 20% Transfer Bonus to Air France/KLM Flying Blue

Through August 22, 2026, get 20% transfer bonus from Citi ThankYou points to Air France/KLM Flying Blue program. I’ve used Flying Blue miles to fly to/from Europe and on SkyTeam partners to/from Asia.

Rove 50% Transfer Bonus to Qantas

Through August 14 2026, get 50% transfer bonus from Rove to Qantas. Rove is a travel booking platform that earns miles yet doesn’t have a credit card attached.

Multiple Currencies 10% Transfer Bonus to Cathay Pacific

Through August 28, 2026, get 10% transfer bonus from multiple currencies to Cathay Pacific, maxed out at 10,000 bonus miles. You must first register for this promotion here. Eligible transfer currencies include Amex, Bilt, Capital One, Citi and more. See this post from Upgraded Points for more info.
