Amazing quick turnaround time on my kids’ passport renewals

July 24, 2024 By Nancy 5 Comments

Due to the timing of some upcoming international trips, I decided this summer was a good time to renew my younger two kids’ passports. It’s just easier to do it over the summer when they’re out of school.  I’m happy to report that we received their new passports in record time!

The Timeline

Sunday, July 7: Passport appointment in Frisco, TX

Thursday, July 11: I see our checks deposited online

Friday, July 19: We receive their new passports

Yes, that’s less than two weeks! And no, we did not pay extra to expedite.

I can’t guarantee this will be your experience. But, it does seem like now might be a slow traffic time for passport renewals.

I wonder if this is the norm for DFW area, my kids new passport applications last summer came back within 2 weeks. Applied in Southlake. Then I renewed my passport this June with the beta online renewal program and received mine in just 8 days neither times had expedited service.

Sheesh! And here I was all impressed that we got our kids’ passport renewals back in three weeks last fall. 12 days is insane!
