This morning, I received an email from TAP Air Portugal with news of an upcoming co-branded Amex card:
I don’t know any details about the release date of this card or what the bonus will be. However, clicking on the “Join now” link took me to a screen to input my email for an extra 5000 bonus miles and 5000 status miles to join the waitlist. I’m not sure if this link is targeted or of it’s open to everyone.
The small print for the waitlist says: *By signing up for the waitlist for the TAP Miles&Go American Express Card by Cardless, you can earn an extra 5,000 TAP Miles&Go Miles and an extra 5,000 TAP Miles&Go Status Miles after spending $2,500 in eligible purchases within the first 90 days of account opening. These extra miles are on top of the bonus miles set forth in the Offer Terms that apply at account opening. To be eligible for this extra miles, you must sign up for the waitlist with your email address and use the same email address when applying for the TAP Miles&Go American Express Card; account must be opened by October 24, 2023.
Based on that date, I expect this card to be launched soon.
I joined the waitlist, because why not? Aeroplan had a similar waitlist deal before launching a new card with Chase.

Peter says
Interesting. Cardless?
AMEX USA doesn’t even have TAP as a transfer partner. Maybe something is in the works?
Nancy says
@Peter I wondered that too about TAP being added as a transfer partner in the future. I guess we will see!
Boris Minevich says
Nance do you anything about TAP programm?
Nancy says
@Boris I don’t have much experience with TAP. I do know that they are usually not the cheapest for Star Alliance award prices. I’m flying on TAP early next year, but I booked the flight using Aeroplan miles. However, if the bonus is high, the credit card may be worth it. We will just have to see what the offer is when it comes out.
