Just a quick post to let you guys know that Holiday Inn Resort Orlando Suites Waterpark (formerly Nickelodeon) can now be booked on points. The cost is a fairly reasonable 25,000 IHG points per night, which is a good deal during high season. Right now availability is wide open, but that could change soon. With IHG it’s best to book now, ask questions later. If you are heading to Orlando area during Christmas, burn your points immediately.
The coolest thing about this place is that for 25,000 points per night you get a suite that can fit up to 6 people if you put two kids on the couch. Children who got the best grades get to share a bunk bed!
Be aware, it looks like there is a parking fee of $12 per night. Obviously, it makes sense to check the price of vacation rentals via sites like VRBO, AirBnB or Skyauction. But if you are going during holidays and happen to swim in IHG points (and who doesn’t?), this is a good deal. You may also want to consider applying for Chase IHG co-branded credit card because just one bonus will cover 3 nights at this place. And you will get 10% of your points back.

Thanks for the heads up. Booked a weekend in October. I want to book more. I know my kids will love it and it’s close, but I’m one of the few not swimming in IHG points right now. My kids are going to go crazy for the suite. 🙂

Jennifer, glad to help! Enjoy the resort, it looks amazing. I’ll have to wait till next year, but it’s definitely on my list. On IHG points: watch out for promos this fall. I bet you’ll be able to get them on the cheap. I’m actually swimming in IHG currency at the moment, but not for long. I have plans for my entire stash.

Call me crazy, but I’ve always wanted to stay there!

Nancy, not crazy at all! My SIL took my daughter there back when it was a Nick resort, and they loved it. I really want to book a weekend myself, but our plans for this year are completely full.
