1. Download Club Carlson mobile app, and get 3,000 bonus points per booking between September 8th and November 16th. What? You are actually planning on doing it instead of IHG promo I wrote about yesterday? OK. (h/t View from the wing)
2. An interesting post on Million Miles Secrets blog on some new rules Chase has put into place, and what exactly is considered abuse. Most people who apply for cards in moderation will not be affected, so no need to panic. I do suggest you read it, though.
3. Just to prove that I practice what I preach: I’ve applied and got approved for The US Airways® Premier World MasterCard®. First, I cancelled my existing card, and few days later had no trouble applying for a new account. I’ve mentioned many times that this offer is going away soon, due to merger of US Airways and American Airlines. I’ve put it at the top of my list of bonuses for that reason.
Remember, these miles will merge with AAdvantage at some point next year. If there is such a thing as “hot” bonus, this is it, but only in my opinion. AAdvantage miles are very hard to get, unless you get in on a monster bonus, and they only transfer from SPG program.
The card pays me commission and you can find direct links in my list of bonuses as well as my “Support Me” page. Even if you don’t use my links, I recommend you get this card before it’s gone.

All that Chase stuff is the reason I dumped my UR points- too scary! I do not typically do MS though, so I wasn’t worried about that. I was more worried about how much open credit I have.
Holly, yeah, I saw that post of yours. I would have done the same thing. Better safe than sorry. I tread carefully with Chase, don’t want to kill the golden goose.
I have two questions about the “US Airways® Premier World MasterCard”. At the end of last year I applied for a “US Airways Dividend Miles” that was giving 35K miles after the first purchase and the $89 fee was waived. I cancelled it around April 2014.
1.- Are you talking about the same card? This offer is not waiving the $89 fee…
2.- What is the policy to reapply and get the bonus again? How long do you have to wait?
Thank you in advance.
Sebastian, thanks for your questions. The card you are referring to is the card I’m talking about as well. In fact, I got it at the same time you did and got 35K miles, and the fee was waived. Unfortunately, that particular offer is no longer available. At the moment, the best offer is 40K miles with the fee of $89, not waived. It does happen to pay bloggers commission, including me. I’m not aware of a better offer.
As far as how often you can get this bonus. In my experience, as long as you get approved by Barclay’s, you will receive the miles, even if you cancelled your other card recently. I haven’t received my miles yet, as I just got approved, but I don’t foresee any problems.
My husband got this bonus last year as well. Then in April, I canceled his US Airways card, and applied for it a few days later. He got approved, and the miles posted promptly. The nice thing about this offer is that minimum spend is $1, super easy.
I can’t guarantee your results, of course, and Barclay’s can be weird on approvals. However, we seem to have very good success with them, as far as getting approved and receiving the bonus.
I hope this answers your question. Let me know if you have any other concerns.
Great answer. You clarified all my questions. I think I will have to pass this one since last week I applied for the Barclay Arrival so I can use the 40K points to reimburse a cruise expenditure. Applying to this one will be too soon and almost a guarantee to be denied.
No worries, glad to help. Yes, if you just got Arrival, it’s very unlikely you would get this offer too. Hopefully, you’ll have a chance to apply for US Airways card before it’s gone.
