The image shows a vibrant theme park area inspired by a video game, featuring colorful structures resembling blocks and characters from the game. There are large, whimsical decorations like a giant red and white mushroom and a castle-like building. The area is bustling with many visitors walking around and exploring the attractions. The background includes green hills and various themed elements, creating an immersive environment.

Buying a Car (Sight Unseen) as a Miles and Points Enthusiast

August 25, 2025 By Leana 6 Comments

The image shows a blue SUV with a sleek design, viewed from the rear side. The vehicle has tinted windows and distinctive taillights. It is displayed on a plain background with a website URL at the bottom.

I look forward to buying a car like I look forward to having a root canal. Aside from spending our hard-earned money on material things (I much prefer experiences), I find it super stressful. But my husband was determined to get another car now, even though we agreed to wait until next summer. A few […]

A small, fluffy white dog is running towards the camera with its tongue out, ears flapping, and a happy expression. The dog is in a grassy field with small white flowers, and there are trees and a blue sky with clouds and contrails in the background. The sun is setting, casting a warm glow over the scene.

Yesterday, I posted about the newly launched Alaska Airlines premium credit card, Atmos Rewards Summit Visa Infinite Credit Card (non-affiliate link). ICYMI, see this post from yesterday.  My husband applied for the card, and he was instantly approved! His stats: 5/24 (he’s opened 5 new cards in the past 24 months) 1/12 (he’s opened 1 […]

How I Plan to Take Advantage of New CSR Perks, Plus Thoughts on the Current Offer that Expires Tomorrow

August 20, 2025 By Leana 4 Comments

The image shows a payment summary for a booking at the Bellagio Hotel and Casino. The total cost is $657.71, with taxes included at $154.38. The trip total is $657.71, and the amount due today is 20,000 points plus $257.71. The user has 122,421 available points and has chosen to redeem 20,000 points. There is an option to apply the points and pay the remaining amount with a credit card. The interface includes options to share, favorite, get information, and adjust settings.

Update: it looks like the $500 travel credit has been removed via referral links, but the points bonus was increased to 125k points from 100k points, which will probably appeal to those who transfer to partners. Back in June, Chase Sapphire Reserve has undergone significant changes. Call it Amex-ization, couponification, whatever. See Nancy’s post for […]
