A quick post to let you know that today, Southwest Airlines will extend its flight schedule through January 5th 2026. That timeframe includes Thanksgiving and winter holidays, a busy travel time for many families.
Keep in mind that Southwest flight credits currently don’t expire, though that will unfortunately change in May.
So, you can book a flight today and if the price goes down, you can get a flight credit for the difference to use on a future flight.
Flights booked with Southwest Rapid Rewards points will receive a refund in points for any cancellations or changes.
You can transfer Chase Ultimate Rewards to Southwest points on 1:1 basis.
Are you guys booking anything?

@Aleks Very true! I personally think Southwest pricing strategy often assumes that many people have Companion pass. Meaning, the rate is artificially high. We have gotten some decent deals on Southwest in the last few years, but the program is going downhill. I have some credits and points I need to burn, so we will fly with Southwest at least one more time.
Used to fly with them much more often, but their prices haven’t been competitive in the past 5 years, and the hard product is very outdated now (most planes). Let’s see if they get improvements with updated management and changes implemented. No more free bags thou…
Happy travels!!
Never mind.. it is showing up now. Thanks for posting
Sure thing! Glad it’s working for you.
Hey! I just checked and the date is still March 6th.
Patrick, that’s odd! I booked an April flight to Detroit a few hours ago. My guess is that some markets will be updated later today, so I suggest you keep checking every 30 minutes or so.
