($100 Amazon Gift Card for $88) My Experience Using Pepper Rewards App

November 7, 2024 By Leana Leave a Comment

Update on 11/07/2024:

Currently  you can get Amazon gift cards on Pepper app at a very good discount. What’s nice is that it’s applied automatically, no need to wait for points to post.

If you don’t yet have Pepper Rewards app and plan to download it, I would appreciate it if you used my referral code 584434.  It should give you $20 bonus.

I’ve been using Pepper Rewards app for a few months now, and it’s been a mostly positive experience.

Original post below:

I’m a bit late to the party on this one, but wanted to put together a short post in case any of our readers missed the deal. So, a few days ago I saw a Frequent Miler post on Pepper Rewards app, but filed it under “I’ll get to it later” since I was busy at the time. Then I saw Chuck on DoC blog mention it as well  and according to the comments, the deal has gotten considerably less hot.

I figured I need to get in on it before it fizzles out and wanted to share my experience.

Why you should care

Personally, I have so many apps that I’m not easily tempted by discounts anymore. However, I did download Pepper Rewards app and you probably should too. Here is why:

1) You get $20 in rewards if you are referred by  someone else, and that person gets the same bonus as well. At least in theory (more on that later).

2) You essentially get 5% off (via points) on many popular gift cards, including Walmart and Amazon. At first, they advertised 10% off for the first 30 days, but I’m not seeing it mentioned anywhere on the app now. I recommend you only sign up if you are OK with a 5% discount, though you might be pleasantly surprised later on if they add additional points to your account.

The app is full of bugs (but still a good deal for now)

Here are some issues I’ve encountered. First of all, I’m not seeing the $20 bonus from refer-a-friend in my account. I definitely did use the referral in the promo section of the first page when downloading the app. I’m seeing other comments mentioning the same issue, and hopefully I’ll get my points later on. This is certainly disappointing, and I recommend you take a screenshot showing the referral code.

Another issue I’ve encountered two days ago was my credit cards all being declined for some reason. I’m not sure what happened, but other people had the same problem. I’ve tried again the following day, and it worked. I bought a $100 Amazon gift card and was happy to see that 20 points (equals $5) were deposited in my account right away. So I used them to buy a $5 Amazon gift card. I got both cards instantly and applied them to my Amazon account without issues.

This is an attractive value proposition for those who are working on meeting minimum spending requirements on a card that doesn’t give extra points on Amazon purchases. Of course, if you shop at Target or Walmart, this is also a pretty good deal. Is it earth-shattering? Not really. But I hope this app sticks around because it’s an easy way to save money. And of course, if you get your $20 refer-a-friend reward (and you should), that’s just gravy.

If you are looking to download Pepper Rewards app, I would appreciate it if you used my referral code 584434 in the promo box. I’ve reached out to Nancy and will add hers as soon as she gets the app downloaded.

Readers, feel free to share your referral codes in the comments.
