TAP Air Portugal Card by Cardless New 58k Bonus for Limited Time

October 24, 2024 By Nancy Leave a Comment

One year ago, Cardless launched the TAP Air Portugal Miles & Go American Express card (non-affiliate link) I had signed up on the original waiting list for the card for an extra 5000 miles, bringing my total bonus miles to 65,000 miles. After the launch, the welcome bonus dropped to 30k-40k miles. But now, for the card’s one-year anniversary, the welcome bonus is up to a respectable 58,000 miles.

  • Get 58,000 bonus miles after spending $2500 in the first 90 days
  • That’s enough miles for a round-trip economy ticket (with saver award availability) from USA to Europe
  • 3X miles on TAP purchases
  • 2X miles on hotels, car rentals and rideshare
  • 1X miles on all other purchases
  • 2 access passes to TAP Premium Lounge in Lisbon
  • 2 free checked bags per year
  • Premium boarding for you and travel companions
  • Earn up to 10k status miles with spending
  • $79 annual fee
  • Offer ends October 31, 2024

As of now, you can only apply/own one Cardless credit card. So, if you already have the Qatar or Avianca card, you’re not eligible to get this one.

To fly in business class, you’ll need 100,000 miles. Ouch! But, you can transfer miles from Capital One to TAP Air Portugal to add to your stash.

I took a quick peek at saver award availability, and it does exist, although it varies by U.S. city. My daughter and I flew on TAP Air Portugal earlier this year from Chicago to Lisbon in business class and enjoyed our flight. However, we booked with Air Canada Aeroplan miles because it was cheaper.

This is NOT a card I’d recommend for beginners, or even intermediate miles and points travelers. There are better card offers out there, and cards with flexible points are a safer bet. But, if you ran out of other cards to apply for, this could be an “ok” option.
