Several years ago, Banco Popular (out of Puerto Rico) offered an Avianca LifeMiles credit card. My husband and I both got it and successfully used our Avianca miles. However, the relationship with Banco Popular and Avianca dissolved, and currently there is no Avianca credit card in the U.S.
However, I just saw on View From the Wing that Cardless will soon be offering a new Avianca LifeMiles credit card. While the details of the card and the welcome bonus are currently unknown, you can sign up on a waitlist to get an extra 5000 miles (for the $99 annual fee card) or 10,000 miles (for the $249 annual fee card). When the card is launched, you must apply and be approved within the first 30 days to get these extra miles on top of the regular welcome bonus.
Thoughts on new Avianca LifeMiles card from Cardless
I recommend signing up for the waitlist for this card. It’s free to sign up , and you’re under no obligation to apply for the card. Both my husband and I signed up on the waitlist. We are also on the waitlist for the Qatar credit card, also launching from Cardless soon.
However, both Leana and I have had our share of frustrations with the Avianca LifeMiles program. The website is glitchy, and award availability can be difficult to find. But, we’ve also both had some luck with booking flights.
Readers, are you excited about this new card?
