I need more American Airlines miles because my family is planning to visit Japan next year. AA has award seats for 35k miles each way with great award availability. Getting this card will give me 69,000 total AA miles after meeting the minimum spending, which is almost enough for two tickets to Japan.

It was funny and interesting to read this post today since I also applied for it yesterday and was instantly approved. I received an email offer for 70K miles for $5K spent in 5 months with the free waived for the first year.
