Royal Caribbean Cruise Ship Overbooked, Guests Left Behind: This is not the first time that Royal Caribbean has overbooked a cruise. But, in the past, guests were notified in advance of arriving at the port. These guests didn’t find out until they arrived at the port to embark. See this post on Cruise Hive.
Redefining Loyalty? World of Hyatt Announces Big Changes for 2024!: Check out this post on Miles to Memories for Hyatt loyalty changes coming in 2024. I don’t have enough Hyatt nights each year to benefit from any of these changes, but Hyatt certainly has some great perks for those who stay 60+ nights a year.
Review: Etihad Airbus A380 First Class “Apartment” London Heathrow To Abu Dhabi: I consider myself spoiled by flying business class on some international flights. But, this first class apartment on Etihad is a whole other thing! Read this post on View From the Wing.
Redeem Flying Blue Miles on Etihad Airways: Over the past few years, Air France/KLM Flying Blue program has risen to the top of my favorites list. I’ve used Flying Blue to fly in business class twice to Europe. I have an economy flight booked with Flying Blue miles for next summer and I also just booked a business class seat to Asia. Now, you can book Etihad Airways with Flying Blue program. See this post on One Mile at a Time.
Have a great weekend!

RCCL’s offers of compensation are pathetic. They should have offered a full refund and a massive upgrade on the next – free – sailing. I hope the passengers sue.

I’ll say this… RCCL is my favorite line. With that out of the way…
HOLY SMOKES WHAT AN ABSOLUTE CLUSTER. I would be absolutely livid if I showed up and was denied boarding due to their incompetence. Their compensation is pitiful, and nevermind the fact that you don’t get that time back. RCCL should be absolutely ashamed of themselves.
Note to self. Don’t ever book a guarantee room. Ever, ever, ever.

WOW! RCCL has no room for booked guests and those are their proposed alternatives??? That would be enough to make never sail on them again. I would have lost vacation time, the money paid for flights, now be stuck either having to fly back early or do a land vacation at the last minute. In no way does their compensation make those consumers whole. If that was me, I would never have settled for that. Is RCCL out of their mind for giving that little compensation???
Nancy says
@Stephanie I agree! And because of this, I would never book a “guarantee” room on Royal Caribbean.
