Istanbul, We Have a Problem: What’s Going On with Turkish Miles?: Turkish Airlines website is not the best, and lately you can’t book Star Alliance awards online. Check out this post on Thrifty Traveler that summarizes the current issues. Also, read this post on Frequent Miler to see the workaround for booking United with Turkish miles. Seems like a big pain, but the savings could be worth it.
Who In Their Right Mind Orders 2-3 Entrées for Dinner in Main Dining? I Don’t Get It!: See this post on Frequent Floaters. Some cruise lines are starting to charge extra for a second entree in the main dining room. My first reaction to this question, though, was “Let me introduce you to my 15-year-old son”. Seriously, can any other parents of teen boys relate? One of the reasons we decided to do a Mediterranean cruise this summer instead of island hopping by ourselves was because of the included food on a cruise. With two teenage boys, food costs really add up!

My wife and I flew Turkish from IST back to DFW. I booked with Turkish (45k miles for business!). I recall I couldn’t book online because of the second passenger thing (my wife) but no issue booking over phone. Turkish has been worth the issues (I agree with Nick at FM).
BTW, I noticed recent Air France flights between DFW and Paris appear to be on the A350-900 (not 787) but not the old one. Based on the Air France booking website, the seat layout referenced in recent OMAAT article and it matching to Expert Flyer seat map, it is the NEW business class seats with doors. Seeing this for flights this weekend and others in October (chasing random award availability).
Are you flying on one of these Air France A350s from DFW?

@Peter Great score on those 45k business flights on Turkish! Those flights are still relatively easy to book…it’s the Star Alliance flights using Turkish Miles that require emails plus phone calls to book right now. I hope they fix the website someday to make it easier to book partner flights. I don’t have any more Air France flights booked at this time, but that would be great if the DFW route is getting those new business class seats! Those look snazzy.
