This is a super short post to make you aware of something I’ve just discovered. Now that Choice takeover of Radisson Americas program is complete, there are some deals to be had for families. One such deal I’ve found is at Radisson Resort Miami Beach, and I’m sure there are many others. An interesting quirk of Choice program is that it often allows you to redeem points on suites at a standard rate. This is indeed the case here:
That particular property used to cost 60k Radisson points, and you could only get a standard room without a view for that rate. The suite with two queen beds and a sofa normally costs $600 per night, so redeeming just 30k Choice points represents a solid value. Miami Beach is not my favorite area in Florida, but I did spend a night there recently and had a nice time.
Plus, if you only need an overnight stay before a cruise, this hotel is perfect. It’s been recently remodeled, so that’s another plus. Keep in mind that you can only redeem Choice points 100 days before your stay, a big negative.
A reminder: you can currently apply for Wells Fargo Choice credit card that comes with 90k points bonus (find non-affiliate application link here) Alternatively, you can transfer Citi Thank You points via 1:2 ratio as long as you have a card like Citi Premier or Prestige.

Thanks, Nancy! Aside from using certs, I think this is the best points deal for families in Miami Beach.
