As some of you may know, Lindner Hotels and Resorts are now bookable via Hyatt points. I’m not really familiar with this chain, but some of the properties look quite interesting. One in particular, mentioned in recent Frequent Miler post caught my eye: Lindner Hotel Prague Castle
What makes this particular redemption so exciting is the fact that it’s a Category 1. Yes, you read that right, you can stay in the center of Prague (relatively speaking) for as low as 3,500 points per night/per room. In fact, I’m seeing these rates at the end of July of this year:
Your other Hyatt option will cost you 21,000 points, and I can’t imagine that it’s 6 times better. For 3,500 points per night you will get a small room with a king bed and A/C, though no breakfast. But at this price you can afford to splurge on a local restaurant. A family would need to get two or three rooms, but it would still be a good deal IMO. Oh, and suites don’t cost that much more via points. If we had plans to visit Prague, I would be all over this redemption, no question about it. Not too many points deals to be had in that city. Book it before Hyatt raises the rates.
Many years ago, my husband and I had a chance to visit Prague due to Czech Airlines canceling our flight and rebooking us for next afternoon. They paid for our hotel (Soviet style, with angry babushkas) and gave us food vouchers. We had an incredible time, and to this day Prague is one of my favorite cities in Europe. I highly recommend it! It has a well-preserved old town and picturesque squares.

I wish I could include it on our next family trip to Europe, but I already promised my kids stops in Switzerland and London. Oh well, maybe next time.
There are several ways to accumulate Hyatt points, including 1:1 transfers from Chase Ultimate Rewards. See Nancy’s post on improved offer on Chase Ink Business Preferred.

2.1cpp, good – but not great.
Just spend the 68 euro/night
@Mojo Seems great to me, but yes, it depends on how you value your Hyatt points. I value them speculatively at 1.3 cents apiece.
The thing to remember is that many times Hyatt properties cost a fortune in cash, and not something I would actually pay in real life. So while getting a $3000 per night hotel for 40k Hyatt points will yield a more impressive ROI, it’s not a fair comparison. On the other hand, I am happy to pay $70 per night for a centrally located room with A/C, so getting it for 3,500 points instead is a no-brainer. Hmm, seems like a good topic for a post.
