Yesterday, Disney Cruise Line announced its lineup for Summer 2023. I used to excitedly anticipate this announcement day for DCL. But now that my kids are older and prices are even MORE crazy than before, my excitement is somewhat muted.
DCL Summer 2023 Changes
The big news is that for the first time, the Disney Dream is being deployed to Europe for the summer. In the past, the older and smaller Disney Magic has taken those itineraries.
The Disney Magic will instead sail out of Miami and San Juan for the summer. The Disney Wonder will continue to sail from the West Coast and cover Alaska itineraries, while the Disney Wish and Disney Fantasy will sail from Port Canaveral to the Bahamas and the Caribbean.
See all the itineraries in detail here.
Cruises will become available to book starting next week:
- Monday May 2nd – Platinum Castaway Club Members, Golden Oak Club Members and Club 33 Members
- Tuesday May 3rd – Gold Castaway Club members
- Thursday May 5th – Silver Castaway Club Members, Disney Vacation Club Members and Adventures by Disney Insiders
- Monday May 9th – First time cruisers
Prices
While you can’t book a cruise yet, you can see some sample pricing. Disney Cruise Line Blog has an excellent recap of opening day pricing here.
I admit, for a minute I wondered if perhaps I should switch our 2023 European cruise from Royal Caribbean to Disney. But in looking at the prices, switching to a comparable Greek Isles cruise would double our price. So, Royal Caribbean it is.
