A Triple Stack on DoorDash for a Date Night at the Beach

File this one under “Duh!” category, but I had no idea that you could order pickup via DoorDash. I was under the impression that they only did delivery. Since we live in the middle of nowhere, I never really paid much attention to this company. The few times I checked, no places in town were participating.

I did get an account in my husband’s name when Chase Sapphire Reserve added $60 DoorDash credit as part of its new assortment of benefits. But to be honest, I wasn’t sure if I would ever put it to good use. The account just sat there, collecting dust.

Well, due to Covid-19 pandemic, we’ve been getting occasional restaurant  takeout. Even though in Florida you are now allowed to eat inside, that’s not something I’m comfortable doing just yet.

Triple stack for the win

Yesterday, my husband and I were getting ready to drive to Anna Maria island and pick up some sushi from our favorite place on the way. While he was getting dressed, I checked my emails. There was a $10 coupon from DoorDash.

I clicked on it, and lo and behold, they do allow pickup.

And the sushi place we love was listed. Nice! But wait, there is more. I remembered getting an email from Wyndham few days prior.

Turns out, I could also earn 3,500 Wyndham points on top of using $10 coupon (the offer expires June 1st). And of course, the cherry on top was $60 credit from CSR. All I had to do was add the card to DoorDash account. Our meal was completely covered, and my husband should get 3,500 Wyndham points on top of it. Not bad if I say so myself.

Let’s face it, a lot of the benefits these premium cards offer are kind of dubious. But in this case, I was going to pay cash anyway. Not only did I get the exact meal I wanted for free, I got $10 off plus some points that may come in handy down the road.

And the view that came with our food wasn’t too shabby either.

It could have been a quadruple stack…

When I signed up for DoorDash account, I did it directly through the website. I had no clue there was a Refer-a-friend program, otherwise my deal would have been even sweeter. If you are one of three people in this hobby who doesn’t yet have an account with DoorDash, I hope you will consider using my referral link.

I will get $7 in credits, and you will get $15 off ($5 off each of your first 3 orders). I like the website so far, and plan to use it in the future, with or without credits. This was  a small win, but it certainly put a smile on my face.
