The Chase IHG Premier Rewards Club Premier Credit Card currently has a sign-up bonus of 140,000 IHG points after spending $3000 in the first 3 months. This is the highest bonus I’ve seen for this card. My husband and I got this card a few years ago when the bonus was 120k.
The card has an $89 annual fee that includes a free anniversary night up to 40k points. You can get the 4thnight free when you book on points, and the card comes with Global Entry/TSA Precheck reimbursement every four years. Note: This card is subject to 5/24, see the details here.
For families, if two people in the household get the card, you’ll have 280,000 IHG points to work with. And that can go far for a family getaway!
While my family used our bonus points for a short stay in Sydney, Australia, there are many nice IHG resorts closer to home where I would look to spend these points.
Holiday Inn Club Vacations Orlando—Orange Lake Resort
Leana has stayed at Holiday Inn Club Vacations Orlando—Orange Lake Resort. See her review here.
This resort offers 2-bedroom condos that sleep 8 people for 40,000 points per night. That’s quite the deal!
The resort has an on-site water park with lazy river. This would make a great home base for a Disney World vacation, or a great spot to escape the parks for a few days.
Holiday Inn Resort Orlando Suites
This hotel is the former Nickelodeon hotel. Suites start at 35,000 points and sleep up to 6 people. With an onsite water park, 4-D theatre, mini golf and laser tag, this hotel has it all.
Staybridge Suites: Anaheim at the Park
This hotel is within walking distance of Disneyland. For 35,000 points, you can stay in a 1-bedroom suite that sleeps 5 people. The hotel has free breakfast, and the suites all have a full kitchen.
Holiday Inn Resort: Grand Cayman
My family visited Grand Cayman on a cruise last year, and we would love to return for a land vacation. Holiday Inn Resort: Grand Cayman is a steal at just 25,000 points for a room with two queen beds.
Holiday Inn Resort Montego Bay All-inclusive
Leana has stayed at Holiday Inn Resort Montego Bay All-inclusive a few times (see her latest review here). For 50,000 points a night, you can get a room for 2 adults and 2 kids, plus all the food and drinks you want!
Holiday Inn Fort Walton Beach
The Destin/Fort Walton area of Florida is very popular with Texans. Holiday Inn Fort Walton Beach has an ideal beachside location and great family amenities like a lazy river and visits from pirates and mermaids. Rooms that sleep 4 people are 50,000 points a night.
How would you spend all of those IHG points?

The Staybridge Suite at Anaheim caught my eye as I am exploring the possibility of visiting Disneyland this summer. The 1-bedroom (single Queen bed) suite, as shown at IHG website, shows sleeper of 4 people. The description of the room is 350 sq. ft. with a sleeper sofa. From the picture of the room, it appears to be very “cozy.”
We (wife and I) have a 16 and 10 year old; is this room going to work? Have you or Leana stay here before? Any first-hand details?
Nancy says
@Rob I haven’t stayed there, and I don’t believe Leana has either. I was looking at dates in May, and I’m showing a room with 2-queen beds plus a sleeper sofa for 35,000 points that says it sleeps 5. It may not be available on certain dates. I’ll try to screenshot it here: https://www.dropbox.com/s/ueg6rqhlbtlvac5/Screenshot%202020-02-10%2015.06.18.png?dl=0

@Nancy. Thank you for that. Apparently, when I googled “staybridge suites anaheim,” the first option was Staybridge Suites: Anaheim-Resort Area and not Staybridge Suites: Anaheim At The Park. I selected the first link and that was the one with single queen bed studio. Glad to see I mistakenly clicked through the wrong hotel as now I have another hotel option for our stay. Thanks.
