Hi folks! Just some housekeeping news here.
Earlier this year, we shared a post about How This Blog Makes Money. One of the most common complaints we’ve received from readers is that it’s hard to apply for credit cards on our site because we don’t’ have direct affiliate links, and readers have to hunt and search within our affiliate site to find the right credit card when they want to support the blog.
I’m excited to announce we have made a few changes to streamline this process to make it easier for you find the right credit card.
Partnering with Travel Freely
As of this month, Miles For Family is now partnering with Travel Freely on affiliate credit cards! Our affiliate page with Travel Freely is a more user-friendly option to search for credit cards.
What I love about this new format is that our page shows not only our affiliate cards, but also non-affiliate cards within the filters if the offer is better. For example, under Airline credit cards, the non-affiliate offer for the Barclay AAdvantage Aviator Red World Elite Mastercard still shows up on our page with a direct non-affiliate link.
We also now have the ability to add direct links to cards within our blog posts. For example, we can link directly to an offer for the Capital One Venture Rewards card or the Chase Sapphire Preferred card. We do plan to do that where appropriate.
Please know that reading our blog is free, and you are under no obligation to sign up for credit cards through our links. Please continue to read, comment on and share our posts! For those that choose to apply through our links, thank you for your support.
You can read about these changes on the updated version of How This Blog Makes Money. As always, feel free to email us any questions at nancy@milesforfamily.com.

This is great! Thanks
I was wondering if it’s possible to include a note with each card offer referencing how the current offer stacks up to historical best offers for that card. Also application restrictions (ie chase 5/24 or Amex once per lifetime etc) Would be helpful
I appreciate that you will link to a better nonaffilliate offer if it’s available.
I’ll definitely be using your links in the future!

@Tammie Thanks for the feedback. I’ve added a post about bank restrictions to all of the credit card pages. One thing I want to mention is that Travel Freely has a free tool you can sign up for (https://my.travelfreely.net/signup?bref=mfw) that only recommends cards you are eligible to apply for based on the credit cards you currently have or have had in the past. You must tell the tool which credit cards you’ve had in the past in order for it to filter recommendations. I’m currently using the tool myself, and I plan to write a blog post about it after the first of the year. As far as referencing the historical best offers for each card, Doctor of Credit maintains a spreadsheet with that info here: https://www.doctorofcredit.com/spreadsheet-current-recent-credit-card-signup-bonuses-major-issuers/ Thanks for your support! 🙂

I need to bookmark these pages. I regularly find myself having to google for information like that! Thanks again
