This morning, Disney Cruise Line announced itineraries for early 2021. Although sailings were announced today, cruises aren’t open to book to the general public until next Thursday, October 3, 2019. However, there is a tiered booking system before that for Castaway Cay members as follows:
- Monday September 30th: Platinum Castaway Club members & Disney’s Golden Oaks residents
- Tuesday October 1st: Gold Castaway Club members
- Wednesday October 2nd: Silver Castaway Club members, Adventures by Disney Insiders, and DVC members who have not previously sailed with DCL
- Thursday October 3rd: First time cruisers

What’s New?
Honestly, there’s nothing too earth-shattering with these new 2021 itineraries. DCL is going to two new ports of call: Progresso, Mexico and Catalina Island, California.
The Disney Wonder will be sailing from Galveston, Texas in January with two 4-night cruises to Cozumel as well as a 6-night and 7-night cruise. The Wonder then goes to New Orleans for a 4-night, 5-night and a few 7-night cruises before sailing through the Panama Canal. After arriving in San Diego, the ship sails to Baja Mexico on a series of 3- to 7-night cruises.
The Disney Magic is sailing from Miami on a mix of 3- to 5-night cruises. The Disney Dream and the Disney Fantasy will continue sailing from Port Canaveral on their usual 3- to 4-night Bahamian cruises (Dream) and 7-night Eastern and Western Caribbean Cruises (Fantasy).
Book Early, Book for Off-Season
Who is even thinking about 2021 yet? I am, for one. Booking a cruise early is the best way to get the lowest price. With DCL, the price of the cruise goes up as more rooms are sold. You can see how the price inflates with this Fare Tracker on TouringPlans.com.
Also, January and February are off-peak times for DCL when most kids are in school, so the ships have fewer passengers and the prices are lower. We’ve pulled our kids out of school four times during these off-season months for past cruises.
Are you Booking?
Although I’m sure I will poke around the DCL website next week to look at prices, I’m not planning on booking a DCL cruise next week. My family is planning to cheat on DCL once again with a Royal Caribbean cruise in 2021. Plus, we’re holding out to sail on the new Disney Wish in early 2022.
Are you jumping on any of these DCL itineraries?
