Second update: it looks like it was a glitch after all. The price on the website is back to 25k points per night.
Update: Dave at MilesTalk reports that you can still book these resorts for 25k points per night by calling Hyatt. It’s possible that this is just a glitch but either way, it doesn’t look good. I think the writing is on the wall.
A quick heads up on the news I saw on Twitter. According to MilesForMatt account, Hyatt has just raised award rates on several of its all-inclusive resorts. I did a quick check and indeed, this is the price that comes up for two people in both Cancun properties:
They used to cost 25,000 points per night, so this is a significant jump.
I checked both Jamaica all-inclusive properties and it looks like the family wing still costs 25,000 points for two people, while the “adults only” wing now runs at 40,000 points per night. The solution would be to simply book into family wing in order to save points.
The property in Puerto Vallarta is the last remaining bargain, so you may want to book it soon:
Keep in mind that Hyatt charges 50% of points’ rate for each additional guest over 3 years of age. So in my opinion, Hyatt all-inclusive resorts are the best option for a couple’s getaway or those who have kids under 3.
What’s going on, Hyatt?
It goes without saying that I’m completely disgusted by this shady behavior. There is zero excuse for no-notice devaluations, and this sort of thing completely undermines any faith in loyalty programs. Not too long ago Hyatt more than doubled the rate on one of my favorite properties in Florida and announced it only after the fact. This is unacceptable.
I suggest you voice your disappointment to Hyatt via Twitter or Facebook. Enough is enough.

I agree, I think a huge devaluation will be here very shortly! Just hope they give us some notice.

@Lynn I’m afraid it’s not looking good for Hyatt. They have already gutted Points+Cash option. I think at this moment all-inclusive resorts are the most vulnerable to increase. It’s possible it was a test and a preview of things to come.
It also bothers me how they recently changed categories on some hotels and announced it only afterwards. That’s not right! And let’s be fair, even giving few days doesn’t cut it. What if people don’t check their email. I have almost no Hyatt points left right now, otherwise, I would be burning them.
