Ever since I started this blog, I tried to have a regular news segment. Things in this hobby change quickly, so I felt it was important to keep those readers who only follow my site in the loop. This was never meant to be a “breaking news” blog, and I never claimed anything of the sort. But I kept the recap segment going with the hope that at least some of you may benefit from it.
Since Nancy came on board, we started to shift focus to Facebook because it seems to get more engagement. I would end up sharing the news/posts as they came out, and then I would publish a recap each Friday. Nancy and I discussed it and decided that it’s a bit redundant to keep doing things the same way. Plus, it feels odd to publish something that was already covered on blogs extensively four-six days ago.
That’s why we will no longer publish recap posts and instead stick to sharing the news items and other bloggers’ posts on our Facebook page. I hope you guys consider “liking” and following us there if you don’t already. Don’t worry, you won’t be inundated with endless drivel. We publish one to three short posts on Facebook per day, max. If you are not currently on Facebook, I hope you consider getting a free account so you can follow us. We would very much appreciate it.
If there is a very important news item that also happens to be time-sensitive, we will definitely try to get a post published on the blog itself. Nancy and I are busy moms, but we want to create content that actually benefits people. Obviously, you can’t please everyone, but we try to stick to the original mission: helping regular families afford travel via miles and points.
If you can recommend the blog or our Facebook page to your friends, it will be very much appreciated. Thanks for your support, as always!
P.S. If you prefer to receive news items in a blog format, I recommend Doctorofcredit and FrequentMiler
