Book a Suite via Points in Wyndham Garden Fort Myers Beach Hotel

July 10, 2016 By Leana 7 Comments

I’ve mentioned Wyndham program a few times before, as well as the fact that it can be a tremendous deal for a quick Florida beach getaway. The pricing is flat and all properties cost 15,000 points per night. Of course, the problem is, you can only fit four (at most five people) in  one hotel room.

So, large families usually face a dilemma: pay cash for a vacation rental or burn points on two rooms. The first option is almost always preferable when it comes to value. However, there are times when you can have your cake and eat it too.

Introducing Wyndham Garden Fort Myers Beach property. I’ve looked at this place a couple of times, but the only rooms available on points came with two full beds. For us, it’s a deal breaker. My husband and I can not share a full bed. It would ruin our vacation.

So, I pretty much gave up on this place, but decided to take a look at it yesterday. You see, I just got renewal points from both of our Wyndham Visa cards. This deal is no longer available, but at the time I signed up, this offer came with 15,000 bonus points once you’ve paid your renewal fee of $69.

I figured it’s a pretty good deal for one night  at any Wyndham property, and I think I was right. I’ve noticed that Wyndham Garden Fort Myers Beach now lets you book their 2-bedroom suite for only 15,000 points per night:

You can see that there are  many choices as far as room type goes. But the oceanfront suite is clearly the winner! It can fit up to 6 people, and even has  a kitchen. However, before you get too excited, availability during high season is spotty. I couldn’t find hardly anything in March or during the last week of December.

But there is plenty of availability during the first week of April, May and summer of 2017  is wide open. I also found some availability right before Christmas holidays:

I really like this area of Florida. You are within short drive of Sanibel island, Naples Zoo and many other attractions. There are dolphin cruises and various other activities to keep your family entertained for days. It will take you over three hours if you are driving from Orlando, but you can possibly get a one-way rental and fly out from Fort Myers airport. Southwest serves the area, so you can put your Companion Pass to good use.

Wyndham Fort Myers Beach property is nothing fancy, it’s basically a motel on the beach.  But it’s been recently remodeled and families who’ve stayed here, have mostly positive things to say. Plus, there  are no parking fees or bogus resort charges.  You can read Trip Advisor reviews here

I think this is a terrific option for a large family on a budget. You can even drive here  and save money on airfare. If you don’t have any Wyndham points, there is a direct link for Wyndham Rewards Signature Visa. You’ll get 45,000 points after spending $1,000 in 3 months. The annual fee of $69 is not waived. Of course, I can’t guarantee that a suite will still be available by the time you get your sign-up bonus.

On a  side note, this just goes to show you that it pays to check properties on a regular basis.  I just booked two nights at this hotel  in May and look forward to checking out our spacious oceanfront suite. Winning!

Good find! I checked the Mills House in Charleston (another high end Wyndham property) but sadly they don’t do the suite thing. But something else I noticed in your neck of the woods: at that new Holiday Inn Resort waterpark in Orlando you can book via points a room that sleeps six people for their standard rate of 25K per night (or 15K + $60).

Nick, I was actually thinking this Wyndham place would be perfect for your family. You should check it out, and you can probably drive here from Charlotte (with a stopover in Orlando). As far as Orlando property goes, I did write about it in my blog 🙂 //milesforfamily.com/2016/06/01/holiday-inn-resort-orlando-suites-waterpark-is-now-bookable-on-points/
