A new list for IHG PointBreaks hotels should be available on Monday. This preview will let you look at the properties and decide if anything will fit in with your plans. I haven’t seen anything spectacular, but you might find a hotel near where you need to travel. Primarily, it’s great for road trips.
Both hotels in Florida are located near a beach (a few miles away). Remember, the stay would be during hurricane season, though you should be fine at the beginning of August. The list is good for stays from July 28th-September 30th. I recommend, you book your desired property as soon as it becomes available. Remember, you can only reserve 2 stays/ per IHG account/per hotel. They can be for as long as you wish. Here is a full list.
As always, you have a few options to get the points:
1) Transfer the points from Chase Ultimate Rewards to IHG 1:1 if you have Chase Sapphire Preferred, INK Plus or Ink BOLD cards. Not recommended, see the second option.
2) Buy them directly from IHG at a cost of $13.50 per one thousand points, $11.50 if purchasing a larger amount.
There is currently a promotion going on, where you get a 60% bonus on purchased points.
Mommypoints reports that the points post instantly. The cost can be as low as 0.71 cents per point, and you wouldn’t risk account closure, like you would with the third method.
3) Buy them unofficially for 0.7 cents per point. LINK to post on MMS blog.
