Yesterday I received an email from IHG with an offer to get 100 percent bonus on purchased points. I realize, most of my readers do not hold any status at hotel chains, but some might. I actually do have platinum status at IHG , the benefit, that comes with my Chase IHG Visa. This is a very attractive offer for family, and the sole reason is: Point Breaks program.
Normally it does not make sense to redeem points, when you are traveling as a family the way, we do. That is because we would need several rooms and the cost in points would be astronomical. But through their Point Breaks program, you can get a room for only 5000 points per night, though only in a limited number of hotels. There is still time for a road trip vacation, before school starts. So this may be of interest to some.
