My RedCoach First-class Bus Trip

February 23, 2026 By Nancy Leave a Comment

I’m always up for a new travel adventure, and I’m open to exploring various public transportation options to get there. So, when RedCoach bus added a route from DFW to Oklahoma, I decided to check it out.

Booking RedCoach First-class

RedCoach is a bus company that has routes in Texas, Oklahoma, Georgia and Florida (see here). Buses are configured with Premium Economy, Business or First-class seats, depending on the route.

My son attends the University of Oklahoma in Norman, Oklahoma. I try to visit him a few times a year, and this past weekend, a big sporting event on campus lured me to Norman.

The RedCoach route runs from Dallas all the way to Stillwater, Oklahoma (home of Oklahoma State University) with stops in Frisco, TX, Norman,  and OKC in between. The stop in Frisco is very convenient to my house. I booked my first-class seat a few weeks in advance for $41.99 all-in. I selected a seat towards the rear of the bus.

The RedCoach Bus Ride

The Frisco bus stop is in a Walmart parking lot. The bus arrived on time.

A large red bus with the word "RedCoach" written on its side is parked in an empty parking lot. The sky is overcast with streaks of clouds, and there are bare trees in the background. A person is standing near a white car on the right side of the image.

A few people were already on board from the earlier Dallas stop. The driver loaded my suitcase in the compartment below the bus, and I boarded. There were only 7 people on board for this trip to Oklahoma.

The image shows the interior of a bus with two rows of plush, leather seats. The seats are arranged in pairs on either side of a central aisle. The bus has large windows on both sides, allowing natural light to enter. The ceiling has overhead compartments and air vents. The overall appearance is clean and modern.

The image shows the interior of an empty bus. There are two rows of black leather seats on either side of a central aisle. The seats have armrests and are arranged to face forward. Overhead compartments are visible above the seats, and large windows line the sides of the bus, allowing natural light to enter. The floor appears to be made of wood or a wood-like material.

This route only has first-class seats. The leather seats are 21 inches wide and recline quite far back.

The image shows two black leather reclining seats inside a vehicle, possibly a bus or a train. The seats have white armrests and are positioned next to a large window. Outside the window, a street sign is visible, displaying the names "Stonebrook" and "Park." The background shows a cloudy sky and some trees.

Each seat has a tray table that snaps onto the seat:

The image shows the back of an airplane seat with a folded tray table. The tray table is in the upright position, attached to the back of the seat, and has a circular indentation for holding a cup. A hand is visible, holding the armrest of the seat in front. The seat is upholstered in black material.

Each seat also has a leg rest that pulled out:

The image shows the interior of a bus or coach, featuring rows of black leather seats with armrests. The aisle runs down the middle, and a person's foot wearing a sock and jeans is visible in the aisle. A backpack is partially visible on the seat to the left.

A person wearing blue jeans and black shoes is resting their feet on a footrest in a vehicle, possibly a bus or train. The interior features black and gray seating with a wooden floor.

The overhead bins are very tiny and could only fit small, flat bags.

The image shows an empty overhead luggage compartment inside a bus. The compartment is open, revealing its interior. Below the compartment, part of a bus seat and a window are visible, with a view of the outside pavement.

However, I had no issues fitting my backpack under my footrest.

Each seat has power outlets and individual heating/cooling/light controls.

The bathroom is located in the rear of the bus. It looked clean, but I didn’t use it:

The image shows the interior of a compact airplane lavatory. It features a toilet with a closed lid, a small sink with a blue light above it, and a "No Smoking" sign on the wall. The floor has two black circular anti-slip mats, and there is a frosted window on the left side.

Free Wi-Fi was also available, although I didn’t use it.

Overall, the 3-hour ride to Norman was very comfortable and quiet. I wish every airline seat was this comfortable! I hope this route gets enough passengers to remain in business. It really is a good option for OU and OSU students who live in the DFW area. Even though my son has his own car, he may consider riding the bus home next time so he can get some sleep.

Based on my positive experience on RedCoach, I’m curious to try its competitor, Vonlane. Maybe a trip to Houston or Austin in the near future.

Have you been on RedCoach? What did you think of the experience?
