It’s been 2 months since my last credit card approval, but I’ve already hit the required spending to earn the welcome bonus on my Citi Strata Elite (see this post). So, I’m open to another new credit card that will help reduce the cost of my family’s future vacations. (See my Beginner’s Guide: 7 Steps to Free Travel with Miles and Points.
And recently, a new card launched that I just couldn’t resist.
Disney Inspire Visa Card
Chase and Disney recently launched an upgraded Disney credit card, the Disney Inspire Visa card (my personal referral link).
- $300 Disney e-gift card after card approval
- $300 statement credit after spending $1000 in the first 3 months
- $100 statement credit after spending $200 on U.S. Disney theme park tickets each anniversary year
- 200 Disney Rewards Dollars after spending $2000 each anniversary year on U.S. Disney resort stays and Disney Cruise Line
- $10 statement credit/month on Disney+, Hulu, ESPN streaming
- 10% off select purchases and select restaurants at US Disney parks
- 10% off select purchases at DisneyStore.com
- Special cardmember character photo ops at US Disney parks
- Savings on board Disney Cruise Line
- 0% financing on Disney vacation packages and Disney Cruise Line for 6 months
- Card earns Disney Reward Dollars for use at Disney Parks and Disney Cruise Line
- Earn 10% on purchases made for Disney+, Hulu and ESPN
- Earn 3% on purchases at gas stations and most Disney locations
- Earn 2% at grocery stores and restaurants
- Earn 1% on all other purchases
- $149 annual fee
Why This Card Makes Sense for Me
I already have the no-fee Disney card and I always use it to pay for my Disney cruises because of the 0% financing for 6 months. However, the welcome offer on this new card aligns with my travel plans this year.
This fall, 3 of us are going to Disney World followed by a Disney cruise. I still have to buy theme park tickets and pay off a big chunk of the cruise. By opening this card and charging my Disney cruise, I’ll get:
- $300 Disney e-gift card
- $300 statement credit
- $100 statement credit towards park tickets
- 200 bonus Disney Rewards Dollars for paying off my cruise that I can use towards spending at the park
Total rewards: $900 towards my Disney trip expenses (and that’s not counting the 3% Disney Rewards Dollars from charging the cruise)
Of course I have to back out the $149 annual fee. But for the first year, this is still an extra $751 in value.
Who Should Get This Card
I don’t recommend this card for most people I know. After all, you can only spend Disney Rewards Dollars at Disney. For newbies starting out in the miles and points hobby, there are much better cards out there with flexible points and a lower annual fee (like this card I frequently recommend).
However, if you travel to Disney parks every year or frequently sail on Disney Cruise Line, this card may be worth it for you.

Does the e gift card have an expiration date?
