Japan Airlines (JAL)
Transfer miles from Capital One to Japan Airlines with a 1000:750 transfer ratio. This is great news because the other major banks (Chase, Citi, Amex) do not offer transfers to JAL. Award seats on flights to Japan are in great demand, so this is a good option to get first dibs on award availability. Your JAL Mileage Bank account must be open for 7 days in order to receive transfers, so I recommend opening an account now in case you need to use it in the future.
In addition, Capital One announced a 30% transfer bonus to JAL through October 25, 2025.
Qatar Airways
Transfer Capital One miles to Qatar Airways with a 1:1 transfer ratio. Capital One already partners with British Airways and Finnair, which transfer to Qatar. But this direct transfer will save you a step.
I Prefer Hotel Rewards
Capital One miles now transfer to I Prefer Hotel Rewards program with a 1:2 transfer ratio. I’ve never used this program, but I plan to explore the hotel options.
