What I Like About this Card
There’s so much to like about this card! For my family, Alaska Airlines miles have been extremely valuable. I’ve used them to book award flights on partners American Airlines and Japan Airlines. The 100,000-point welcome bonus is a solid offer.
I love that the $12.50 partner redemption booking fees are waived. I also love the ability to share points with up to 10 people.
The $395 fee is not as steep as other premium cards. Plus, you get 25,000 -point companion award which lets you deduct 25,000 points off an award.
I do plan to apply for this card. Fingers crossed!

Seems like a very WEAK VALUE proposition to me.
For $395 one can get ~110,000 points after 6K spend and not much else besides potential use of companion cert up to 25K points. If the high spend is not an issue – then it’s alright, otherwise not so good as some current card offers – with zero or low spend reqs and valuable (hotel or air) credits.
In my opinion AF should be $195 for benefits provided.
@Aleks I’d love a lower annual fee, but Alaska miles are so useful to my family and not the easiest to earn. While this is definitely not the right card for beginners, I’m still super excited about the card! 🙂
