The merging of Hawaiian Airlines with Alaska Airlines has been a multi-step process with different milestones occurring over a span of months. The big unknown question has been when American Express will stop allowing point transfers to Hawaiian Airlines (which can then be moved to Alaska miles). Well, we now have the answer.
Amex to Hawaiian Point Transfers Expire June 30, 2025
According to the American Express website, you will no longer be able to transfer Amex points to Hawaiian Airlines as of June 30, 2025:
So the way I read that, you need to transfer points by June 29, 2025 if you plan to do so. I appreciate that Amex is giving us a heads up with a firm date.
I’ve already speculatively transferred some Amex points to Hawaiian/Alaska last month. My husband has since earned more Amex points for upgrading his Gold card to a Platinum card. So, we have a few weeks to decide if we want to transfer more points.
