Cozumel Excursions: Jet Ski Tour and Nachi Cocom

April 1, 2025 By Nancy Leave a Comment

On our recent cruise on Icon of the Seas, my family split up into two groups for our port stop in Cozumel, Mexico.

Boys: Jet Ski Tour

My husband and sons had a great time jet skiing in Costa Rica last year, so they requested a jet ski excursion for this cruise. Since they don’t have a ton of experience with jet skis, they wanted a guided tour instead of simply a jet ski rental.

I booked them a 90-minute guided jet ski tour through Jet Ski Cozumel. The cost was $199 each and included the tour, beach club, lunch buffet and drinks.

From the port, they had to take a taxi to San Francisco Beach Club. The cost was $20 each way. Once they arrived, they sent a WhatsApp message to the tour guide, and they were on their way after a very brief orientation.

It was just my husband, two boys and guide on this tour–nobody else was in the group. They headed up the coast to get a better view of the cruise ships.

After 90 minutes, the tour ended and they returned to the beach club for lunch and drinks. They actually didn’t stay long at the beach club after lunch because they wanted to do some activities back on the ship.

Overall, they loved this excursion and had a lot of fun. I’m glad they had the chance to jet ski in Cozumel, because I had booked a jet ski tour on Coco Cay for my oldest son (my middle son wasn’t old enough) but it was canceled due to high winds.

Girls: Nachi Cocom Beach Club

I’m not opposed to trying a jet ski tour, but my daughter was not having it. So instead, we made a reservation at Nachi Cocom Beach Club. We visited Nachi Cocom on a cruise back in 2013, and I’m happy to report that it hasn’t changed a bit!

We took a taxi from the port for $20 each way.

Nachi Cocom requires a reservation, and it only accepts 130 guests each day. My admission was $69, and my daughter (age 14) was $49. Admission includes beach chairs under a palapa, food, drinks, pool, hot tub, and hammock swings. Nachi Cocom also provides beach toys for families, but they did run out later in the morning.

There’s no loud music or partying. It’s a quiet, relaxing beach.

After we checked in, a host escorted us to lounge chairs and introduced us to our servers for the day. We chose a spot in the back that was completely shaded. We had a great view of the beach.

The water at the beach is pretty clear, and we could easily see fish in the water. I could tell that the staff cleared the beach from sargassum, as we could clearly see the  property line where the sargassum was not cleared from the beach.

We did not use the pool this time, but it wasn’t very crowded:

Our admission included one appetizer, main meal and dessert. We indulged in a fruit plate, chips and guacamole, fajitas, quesadillas and ice cream.

I can’t say much about the drinks because we only ordered bottled watter and one virgin strawberry daiquiri. Servers came around often to take drink orders. A massage therapist also came around asking if we wanted massages, but she wasn’t pushy.

Overall, we had a great time at Nachi Cocom for the 2nd time. We read, we snoozed, we waded in the water. It was a nice way to spend the day.
