New Restrictions on Chase’s Trip Cancellation Reimbursement Policy: It appears that the travel insurance on some Chase cards is no longer as generous if you only pay partially with the card or if you only pay award taxes with the card. See this post on Award Wallet. For international trips, I recommend getting a separate travel insurance policy.
Southwest Extends Schedule through Summer 2025: A few days ago, Southwest Airlines extended its flight schedule through August 4, 2025. The airline also announced several new routes. See this press release.
Hyatt’s New Venture Adds 23 All-Inclusive in Dominican Republic, Mexico, Jamaica, and Spain: Hyatt will soon have more all-inclusive resorts under its umbrella! See this post on Miles to Memories for more details.
Hawaiian Airlines 100% Bonus Miles Sale Until November 15, 2024 (Buy Alaska Miles At 1.27 Cents Each): You can buy Hawaiian Airlines miles with a bonus and transfer to Alaska for 1.27 cents each, which is cheaper than the historical cost of buying Alaska miles. I do not plan to buy any since I just racked up some Alaska miles through the Hawaiian Airlines credit cards. See all the details on Loyalty Lobby.
American Airlines Expends Europe Routes for Summer 2025: I’m a bit excited about more flights to Europe on AA! Plus, a flight I already have booked from Shanghai is getting a larger airplane. See this post on One Mile at a Time.
I hope you’re having a great weekend!

I am contemplating on buying miles for 1.27. Even though, I recently got both HA cards. I don’t think this will come up again?
Nancy says
I can’t imagine that price will come up again, but it’s hard to predict.

I’m good with the Chase travel insurance change. Not sure why anyone should expect Chase to refund more than you charged on their card. Also, lost bag and other coverages remain in effect. Also, anyone that doesn’t get travel insurance for international travel is really dumb. Forget cost of the trip (which I can afford and also won’t break most people) – it is the medical coverage that isn’t included in any US based health plan which is needed. That can break you if you need medical attention overseas. IMHO – it is worth $400-$500 (typical cost for policy that covers my wife and myself) to have that coverage and not worry about it.

@Retired Gambler I agree. I’ve never relied solely on credit card coverage for travel insurance.
