My husband owns the no-fee Bilt credit card (personal referral link). We primarily got it to earn points for paying my son’s college apartment rent. The card doesn’t have a welcome bonus, but some new card owners receive an offer for 5X on spending for the first 5 days of the card.
Every 1st of the month, Bilt celebrates “Rent Day” by giving double points for purchases on that day only:
- 6X on dining
- 4X on travel
- 2X on all other purchases
You can only earn a maximum of 1000 bonus points each month. Rent Day typically consists of other promotions, including transfer bonuses or more ways to earn Bilt points.
November 2024 Rent Day: British Airways Transfer Bonuses
On November 1, Bilt is offering targeted transfer bonuses of 50% and 100% to British Airways Avios. My husband has Bilt Gold Status, but he was targeted for the 50% transfer bonus (womp, womp). I only say womp womp because of course I wish he got the 100% transfer bonus offer.
Still, the 50% transfer bonus offer isn’t terrible. Mainstream banks like Chase and Amex typically offer 30%-40% transfer bonuses to British Airways for several weeks at a time.
British Airways Avios are useful to my family. I used Avios earlier this year to book award flights on Japan Airlines to Tokyo. Next year, I plan to use Avios to book flights for a 2026 trip from DFW to Europe on Iberia.
If my husband had been targeted for the 100% bonus, I would take advantage of the transfer bonus. But with the 50% transfer bonus, we will probably pass. We’re still 7 months out from booking those award flights, and there could be further award devaluations or route changes on Iberia.
What do you think of the Bilt November Rent Day promotion?
