My Hong Kong Itinerary

June 12, 2024 By Nancy 3 Comments

Note: I’m currently traveling and may not be able to respond to comments/emails immediately.

Right now, my daughter and I are on a European adventure. It’s hard to believe our fall trip to Hong Kong is not that far away! I booked us business class flights using miles. Here is our tentative itinerary:

Day 1: Fly to Ontario, California in the evening for positioning flight. Overnight hotel stay on points.

Day 2: Free day in Ontario, activity TBD. We may just wander the mall and catch a movie. Flight leaves at 10:45 p.m.

Day 3: Continue on flight to Hong Kong via Taipei.

Day 4: Arrive in Hong Kong in the morning. My plan is to ride the tram to The Peak to get a birds-eye view of the city. If we’re not dragging, we could walk around Avenue of Stars and watch the evening “A Symphony of Lights” show.

Day 5: Visit Ocean Park Hong Kong. My daughter is looking forward to seeing the arctic foxes and the pandas. If we didn’t get to see the light show the prior night, we will see it this night.

Day 6: Ride the Ngong Ping 360 Cable Car and visit the Big Buddha and Po Lin Monastery. If we have time, we’ll also see Tai O fishing village.

Day 7:  Morning in Hong Kong. Perhaps a visit to a temple and/or garden. In the afternoon, we will relocate to Disney Explorers Lodge.

Day 8: Hong Kong Disneyland!

Day 9: Fly back home.

What would you add or do differently?

Try and book tickets in advance to The Peak & The Ngong Ping 360 Cable Car and Big Buddha

Consider taking bus 15 instead of the Tram to the Peak ( or ride it in the way back) . The ride and the views are amazing as you can see both sides of Hong Kong Island as you climb the narrow road. Take the star ferry from Kowloon to Central Ferry Pier . The bus stop is right across the street . Enjoy HK

Yeah, the tram is an experience but could be an awful, unpleasant wait. I usually splurge a little and ride a taxi up.
