You are not eligible for the bonus on this card if you’ve received a bonus on the Citi Premier or Citi Strata Premier in the past 48 months.
Who should get this card?
This is a valuable card to have due to its flexible points. With this card, you’re not locked into just one airline. Recently, the bonus on the old version of this card was 60,000 points, but it’s been as high as 80,000 in the past. I’m not sure if it will go back up to 80,000 points in the future, so 75k is a pretty good offer.
However, if you’re just beginning to collect miles and points through credit cards, the Chase Sapphire Preferred (affiliate link) is a better card. Not only are the points worth more in the Chase portal, but Chase has a few more valuable transfer partners including Hyatt, Southwest and United.
But, if you’ve been around this hobby for a while and you already have the CSP card and others, adding the Citi Strata Premier card is a good idea. Diversifying your miles and points currencies is smart, plus each of the banks offer different transfer bonuses each month that you can take advantage of.
In the recent year or two, I haven’t had luck with getting approved for the Citi Premier card. Citi has been a bit stingy on approvals. But, with this new launch, who knows? I’ll probably apply soon.
Readers, are you planning to apply for the new Citi Strata Premier card?

@Jay that’s unfortunate. Citi has been stingy with matches lately. I was unable to get a match for the business AA card.

I guess i’m not gonna try for it since i got the Citi Premier just a couple years ago so i have to wait forever to get anything else. :-/
Nancy says
@Sara Don’t worry, this card isn’t the only fish in the sea :). I doubt I will be approved for it.

I applied for the Citi Premier 60k TY for 4k spend (public offer) within 90 days. Citi will not honor the 75k TY for 4k spend (public offer) due to this being a new product. Even though my card has been changed to that product….. It makes no sense. I was told this twice on a call. I’m going to try again later. I hope enough calls go into Citi to update whatever the computer is telling reps. but I guess I should not get my hopes up….
