New to miles and points travel? Check out Beginner’s Guide: 7 Steps to Free Travel with Miles and Points.
Last week, I write a post about the new increased welcome bonus on my favorite credit card for beginners in this miles and points travel hobby. After you spend $4000 in the first 3 months, earn the welcome bonus of 75,000 points plus you would have at least 4000 points from those purchases, so 79,000 total points. Plus, if your spouse or partner applies for the same credit card separately, you can each get the welcome bonus. So, with two “players” and opening one Chase Sapphire Preferred credit card each, you could have at least 158,000 points to work with.
Travel Possibilities with Chase Points
Take a Cruise! Through the Chase Travel portal, 158,000 points are worth $1975 in travel. The possibilities are endless! Book a hotel almost anywhere in the world, or use the points to go on a cruise!
Fly to Europe! Take the whole family to Europe by transferring Chase points to British Airways! Book flights on partner Iberia for as low as 17,000 Avios each way (Chicago to Madrid route, for example). Round-trip airfare for a family of 4 costs as low as 136,000 points! From Madrid, you can easily hop on cheap flights to anywhere in Europe.
Free hotels in Japan: Transfer your points to Hyatt for free lodging on a trip to Japan. In Tokyo, stay at the new Hyatt House Tokyo Shibuya for 15,000 points per night. A family of 4 will likely need two rooms. In Kyoto, stay at the Hyatt Place Kyoto for 8000 points per night. Even with getting two rooms, a family of four could easily stay a full week in Japan on Hyatt points.
Fly to Hawaii: There are several options to use Chase points to fly to Hawaii. One easy option is to transfer your points to Southwest Airlines. I see round-trip flights from LAX to Honolulu as low as 34,000 miles this summer
Bottom Line
Chase points are valuable when it comes to free travel. And, right now is the perfect time to start collecting some with the current welcome bonus (75,000 points) on the Chase Sapphire Preferred card. Let me know if you need additional travel ideas–I have many!

LOL, is it “legal”?! what are you on about?
Anita says
You haven’t made a disclosure in the article that you will receive a commission if someone applies through your website link. Is it legal not to have that clear statement in your article?

@Anita If you click on a link to a credit card from our site, it goes to a screen with all of our disclosures. We do mention it often within articles as well.
