More increased welcome bonuses on credit cards

Yesterday, I wrote about the incredible 75,000 point welcome bonus on my favorite travel credit card. See this post in case you missed it. But, that’s not the only card that’s recently increased the incentive for new applicants. Let’s take a look at some other great offers.

Full disclosure–we do make a commission on these cards if you apply through our affiliate links, and we appreciate your support of our small business!

Chase Sapphire Reserve

The Chase Sapphire Reserve card has an increased bonus of 75,000 points after spending $4000 in the first 3 months. While this card has a higher annual fee than the Chase Sapphire Preferred card, it does have many benefits that frequent travelers can use.

  • 75,000 bonus points after spending $4000 in the first 3 months
  • 10X points on hotel stays and 5X points on flights booked through Chase Travel
  • 10X points on Lyft rides
  • 3X points on other travel purchases
  • 3X points on dining
  • 1X points on all remaining purchases
  • Points are worth 1.5 cents in Chase Travel portal, making bonus points worth $1125 in free travel
  • $300 annual travel credit
  • Priority Pass Select lounge access
  • Global Entry/TSA Precheck credit
  • Rental car protection and travel protection benefits
  • No foreign transaction fees
  • $550 annual fee

Chase has 14 travel parters you can transfer these points to for even greater value!

  • Aer Lingus, AerClub
  • Air Canada Aeroplan
  • British Airways Executive Club
  • Emirates Skywards
  • Air France/KLM Flying Blue
  • Iberia Plus
  • JetBlue TrueBlue
  • Singapore Airlines KrisFlyer
  • Southwest Airlines Rapid Rewards
  • United MileagePlus
  • Virgin Atlantic Flying Club
  • IHG One Rewards
  • Marriott Bonvoy
  • World of Hyatt

Chase Aer Lingus, Iberia and British Airways Visa Signature Cards

I’m grouping these credit cards together because they all have Avios (miles) that can be transferred among these programs. The Aer Lingus Visa Signature card, Iberia Plus Visa Signature Card and British Airways Visa Signature Card all have increased signup bonuses of 85,000 Avios!

  • 85,00 bonus Avios after spending $5000 in the first 3 months
  • Bonus worth at least $1000 in travel
  • $95 annual fee

Avios are great to use on partner airlines like American Airlines. I’ve used Avios to fly my family to Europe via Iberia from DFW to Madrid. My husband recently got the Iberia Plus card, and we’re planning to use the Avios to fly to Japan on Japan Airlines (partner airline).

Who is eligible for these cards?

If you’ve opened 5 or more new credit cards in the past 24 months, Chase will not likely approve you for these cards. Also, you can’t get the sign-up bonus on the Chase Sapphire Reserve if you’ve received it on any Chase Sapphire card within the past 48 months (see more info here). You can only have one Chase Sapphire product.
