When my kids were younger, we enjoyed several fantastic stays at Great Wolf Lodge. Today only, February 29, 2024, you can find some fantastic sale prices by using the promo code LEAP. Some rooms/dates are as low as $29 per person, which includes the overnight stay and the waterpark. This promo is good at multiple Great Wolf Lodge locations. Valid on select days through 6/13/24.
You will find the lowest rates on weeknights, which I know is difficult with kids in school. However, look at this low rate I found during the week in April for a family of 4 at the DFW location! This rate may be worth pulling the kids out of school for a day. 🙂
Even with taxes and the $39.99 resort fee, the rate is still incredible:
During the checkout process, you will have the option to add expensive packages that include various games and amenities. You can skip those options and simply enjoy the water park and the free character interactions at the promo rate above.

Hi Nancy, we booked based upon your post – same room type. We ppd using our Chase Sapphire Preferred card using a 10% off Chase Offer that posted several days later.
FYI, the morning of check out I received a text asking if we wanted to extend our stay an addtl night. We didn’t choose to do so, but the base rate offered for the same Family Suite was only $69.99, a $17 savings from the Leap Year rate. Will be based on availability, of course, but a possible option to be aware of.
We prepaid for the breakfast buffet, saving $2/pp, not charged until check out. Didn’t really feel the buffet was worth $19.23/pp ttl, however, with plenty of great breakfast places nearby in Grapevine & Southlake. Actually not impressed with any of the overpriced food options there. Paying for convenience but easy enough to drive someplace close by Grapevine Mills for better/cheaper options. We didn’t pay for 2 cars for the self parking lot just outside & were never charged btw so I would skip paying online or at check in if you use the kiosk.
I generally prefer DIY, but the line was 10 deep so I used the self-service check-in kiosk & was assigned a room by the machine very inconveniently located I couldn’t then change. So might be worth getting there early to have a person check you in to get a preferable location.
Have a good time & thanks again

The $40 per person looks good. It includes breakfast, $15 for lunch and $20 for dinner. In my case, if I want something to eat for the family I would have to get the car and I know I won’t do it. Having this option is nice and not outrageous.
The magic wand game is great for kids between 5 and 12 I would say. You will have them running all over the hotel and going to sleep very tired 😂

Glad you posted this! There’s a set of dates available that works for us and we’ve talked about trying out Great Wolf Lodge but not seriously considered it because of the outrageous prices I’ve always seen. This makes it totally reasonable!
Question: Are there any add-ons you recommend? I see they try to sell like a billion add-ons and I know nothing about GWL apart from the fact that it’s usually very expensive. What should I pay for?

@nickatfm I’m glad you found some dates that will work for you. One time we added the Paw Pass for each kid (it was a Christmas present from the grandparents, actually). Two of my kids had fun playing the MagiQuest wand game (my daughter was too young to enjoy it). The game is spread out all over each floor by the rooms. We had the dinner buffet once at the DFW location and it was actually surprisingly very good. But we’ve also been where we’ve added nothing and just bought an arcade card while we were there.

Thanks! We booked a 7 person stay for April for $187 ($250 all in). We have a GWL here in Cincinnati but we’ve never been. We’re excited for it!

@Dan That’s fantastic! I hope you have a great time.

Thank you for this information.
I do have kids at school but I made a reservation on a Sunday for $87 and we will get to enjoy the swimming pool and slides on Sunday and maybe get to sleep at the room to go to school the next day. It will certainly be an unusual day 😉
We literally live 5 minutes from it.
The dining package is not bad… for $40 you get breakfast, lunch and dinner.
