5 Free Hotel Nights with this Business Credit Card

February 19, 2024 By Nancy 1 Comment

Are you ready to start earning miles and points for your next trip? Check out Beginner’s Guide: 7 Steps to Free Travel with Miles and Points and see all of our credit card offers here.

Most of the time, credit card welcome bonuses come in the form of a chunk of miles or points. However, sometimes the welcome bonuses are a bit different.

Marriott Bonvoy Business American Express Card

The Marriott Bonvoy Business American Express Card (affiliate link) currently has a welcome bonus of 5 free hotel nights.

  • 5 free nights (at hotels up to 50,000 points) after spending $8000 in the first 6 months. That’s worth 250,000 points
  • Top off each award night with up to 15,000 of your own points to to stay at more expensive properties
  • Free nights expire 12 months after they are issued
  • 6X points at Marriott properties
  • 4X points at restaurants, US gas stations, wireless telephone services and shipping costs
  • 2X points at all other purchases
  • Free night (up to 35,000 points) on your card anniversary
  • $125 annual fee
  • Limited time offer ending 3/20/24

Pros and Cons of this Card

Pros:

  • 5 free nights!
  • Marriott has a very large footprint (it’s the largest hotel chain in the world)
  • Use up to 15k additional points to stay at more expensive properties
  • Free anniversary night

Cons:

  • Free nights expire 12 months after they are issued
  • Most aspirational properties cost more than 65,000 points per night (properties in The Maldives, Bora Bora and Hawaii cost 85,000+ points)

Note: The personal version of this card has a similar offer only available through friend referrals. Amex has a once-per-lifetime bonus rule per card. See this post for more details.

Final Thoughts

If you’re looking for free hotel nights, this business card is a solid offer. While you won’t be able to stay at the fanciest properties, you can still stay in many decent locations with this card’s free nights. If this is your first small business card, I recommend the Chase Ink Business Preferred card instead. It has a welcome bonus of 100,000 points that can be transferred to multiple airlines and hotels.
