One of the credit cards that both my husband and I personally own has an increased welcome bonus right now. We’ve been able to get a lot of value from this credit card over the last several years. Let’s take a look at this limited time offer.

Chase IHG One Rewards Premier Credit Card

The Chase IHG One Rewards Premier Credit Card (our affiliate link) now has a bonus of 165,000 points. The previous bonus was 140,000 points, but last year the bonus was as high as 175,000 points. IHG includes 19 hotel brands like Holiday Inn, Crowne Plaza, Indigo, Kimpton, Iberostar (all-inclusive) and more!

  • Get 165,000 bonus points after spending $3000 within the first 3 months
  • Free night certificate every year on card anniversary
  • 4th night free when using points
  • Complimentary platinum status
  • Up to 26X points on IHG stays
  • 5X points on travel, gas stations and restaurants
  • 3X points on all other purchases
  • $100 Global Entry credit every 4 years
  • Use points to stay at 17 IHG brands including InterContinental, Crowne Plaza, Kimpton, EVEN hotels, Indigo and Holiday Inn
  • $99 annual fee
  • Limited time offer expires 4/3/24

The Chase 5/24 rule applies–see this post. Note: You can only have one IHG personal credit card at a time, and you are not eligible for the bonus if you’ve received an IHG bonus on any personal card within the past 24 months. You CAN own both a personal and business version of the IHG card.

Who should get this card?

  • Road trippers who frequently stay in hotels
  • National Park visitors–many IHG properties are conveniently located near national parks
  • International travelers–IHG has a large footprint in other countries
  • Parents of college students–most college towns have multiple IHG properties
  • Anyone who wants to save money on hotel stays!

I’m using our anniversary free night certificates in Germany this summer. I can’t wait!

Do you think because they denied me already because I already have a personal card that they will deny me for a business card or should I wait?

@Michelle You can have both a personal card and a business card so I don’t believe Chase would deny you for that reason.

You can’t hold both personal cards anymore. However, you can hold the business card along with the 2 personal.

@Sara That’s a great question, and I’ll add it to the post. IHG stands for InterContinental Hotels Group. (I even got it wrong–I thought it was International Holiday Group–ha!) It includes 19 hotel brands like Holiday Inn, Crowne Plaza, Indigo, Kimpton, Iberostar (all-inclusive) and more!

Has this happened to anyone else? I applied for this card. I’m at 3/24. Currently, I own the original IHG card with the $49 annual fee which they will have to pull out of my cold, dead hands. They denied my Premier application stating I already have the card and they referenced my original IHG card. Sigh. I called the recon line and sent a secure message and received the same answer. You can NOT have two IHG personal cards. It has to be a new rule as my husband has both and I had both when the Premier first came out. Should I do the hang up, call back method or accept that I wasted a credit bureau pull?

@Michelle Unfortunately, it’s a new rule that went into effect a few years ago that you can only have one personal IHG card.
