The banks love it when we spend on our credit cards! The more we put on our cards, the more likely we are to spend more than our budget and end up with interest charges. So, the banks like to throw us incentives to put more spending on our credit cards.
These incentives can be easy, low-hanging fruit to earn more miles and points ONLY IF YOU SPEND RESPONSIBLY AND STILL PAY OFF YOUR BALANCE IN FULL EVERY MONTH!
Chase Incentives on Groceries, Gas and Restaurants
Over the past two days, I’ve received emails from Chase for all of my co-branded credit cards with incentives for purchases on groceries, gas and restaurants from January 15, 2024 through March 31, 2024.
The offers I received:
IHG: 7X points on up to $1000 of spending
Hyatt: 5X points on up to $1000 of spending
Aeroplan: 5X points on up to $1000 of spending
United: 5X points on up to $1000 of spending
You do have to activate these offers through email. Or, if you can’t find any offers in your email, you can go to this link and see if your accounts have been targeted.
Based on the maximum spending for these offers, the most bonus points I can earn is 7000 (IHG) or 5000 (on the others). So, this offer is not earth shattering. But, everything adds up. More points, more travel!
Did you receive any of these offers?
