Last month, I wrote about getting on the waitlist for a special offer for the TAP Air Portugal Miles & Go Amex Card (non-affiliate link) by Cardless. Yesterday, I received an email with details of this new credit card.

Why I Applied for this Card
This card is not the first, second or even third card I would recommend to folks in this hobby. I always recommend starting with cards that earn flexible points that you can transfer to multiple airlines.
However, I’m over 5/24 right now and have already had most credit cards. I applied for this card because I can always use more miles to help my family fly on a future trip to Asia. TAP Air Portugal is a partner of Eva Air, which is a good choice for award seats to Asia.
Unfortunately, after I applied for the TAP Air Portugal Miles & Go Amex card, I was instantly denied. The email I received minutes later listed the following reasons for my denial:
- Number of months since the most recently opened bankcard revolving account(s).
- Number of months since the most recently opened revolving bankcard trade account(s).
- Number of months since the most recently opened credit card account(s).
- Number of months since the most recently opened revolving trade account.
I just opened a new credit card last month, so that’s pretty recent.
This isn’t my first credit card denial, and I don’t take it personally. Those of us who are deep into this hobby are bound to get a few denials every now and then, but that’s ok. Nothing venture, nothing gained.
Readers, are you considering this TAP Air Portugal Miles & Go card?
